Additional Information

Challasis was out of the water at Mill Creek during covid when she was extensively worked on. In 2019 the standing rigging was replaced by Peter Lucas Rigging and a Selden Furlex 104S Jib Furling System was fitted. AK Marine carried out a full engine service and the fuel tank was removed and pressure cleaned. In October 2023 wiring circuits were tested and the switch panel was replaced, later followed by a new alternator. A bonus is the two self tailing winches for the jib sheets.

She was last surveyed 'Out of the Water' in 2025 when the only ASP (as soon as practicable) was a rear engine mount and as advised by AK Marine the pair were replaced in early 2026 along with the Cutlass Bearing.

The final comments by the Surveyor were "Challasis presented very well for her age and under the current ownership has been given a new lease of life with much work and upgrades evident."

Owners Description

We believe Challasis to be an excellent example of a Classic breed of racing and cruising yachts from the stable of one of the greats in yacht design. She is fully kitted out for longer voyages, structurally sound and waiting for a new owner to get the maximum use and pleasure out of her. There is on board a small 1/2 man dinghy, which has only been used once and the boat is offered for sale with cushions covers, tools, charts, sails and all fittings, included.

You may ask why we are selling- well regrettably it's my advancing age and whilst we have loved her well balanced sailing, exciting, yet easily sailed single handed, we have a very old Drascombe Lugger which needs our attention and will suit the Grandchildren better at their age.
