Yacht Training & Familiarisation
When buying a new or used boat, we can offer you own boat instruction in association with Torbay Sea School our next door neighbours here in Brixham, a registered RYA training centre.
We can offer familiarisation or training from a qualified Instructor; they would join you on your new boat and take you through the basics of sailing up to RYA Day Skipper plus qualifications, and when better to do this than on your own new boat. Whether you are going from a smaller to larger boat or converting from power to sail or sail to power. Even if you have no experience and just want to get on the water we can help you to achieve this safely.
We can offer the following categories as packages or individually:
- Safety briefing and procedures
- Anchoring and mooring
- Berthing, springing on and off a pontoon
- Passage planning and executing
- Pilotage work
- Basic maintenance
- Man over Board exercise's
- Rules of the road IRPCS (Col Regs)
- Night Cruising
This is an excellent way of getting to know your new boat, and give great confidence to you your family and friends.
Offering this to our clients is a way of simply taking away the stress of what everything does and when it should be used on the yacht. This will make sailing simply a joy, whether you are going for a day sail around the bay or doing a passage sail to another port.
We have clients who have done very little sailing if any at all, and not wanting to go to a sailing school to do a sailing course with other students. Clients have ordered a new yacht and we in association with Torbay Sea School put a package together that suits the owner of his new yacht or powerboat.
We can also arrange one day RYA courses which include.
- Short Range VHF Certificate
- First Aid @ Sea
- Diesel Engine
- Sea Survival
Please contact us for further information, this is something you may like to take advantage of, we would welcome any enquiry no matter what it may be.
